The More Beds, Better Care Act is an attempt to alleviate the nursing crisis that’s seen hospitals have to close emergency rooms province-wide.

If only the Ford government had a chance to revise their 2022 budget to make it more effective at raising the quality of life for Ontarians.

On Friday, Premier Doug Ford announced his new cabinet. It features a few new faces, a few new roles, and some familiar ones too.

This debate was a great opportunity to get to know the candidates and see what kind of leadership each one brings to the table.

The debate was interesting, well moderated, and was a good discussion on the issues that seem to be most important to Ontarians.

This platform sounds like it has the kind of great ideas that were present in the NDP platform while also being more realistic.

The good news is that if the PCs win the election, they could potentially make changes to the budget based on what’s popular and what isn’t.

These promises will cost a lot of money and, like all marketing materials, the platform doesn’t say how the NDP would pay for it all.

While it’s true that fatalities are inevitable, it’s easier to understand that when protections are in place to mitigate them as much as possible.

For now, it’s a good start and will probably help Premier Ford’s chances of re-election, even if only slightly.

The lack of concrete costing is to be expected for an opposition platform so it remains to be seen how many of these ideas will be feasible.

In another shrewd just-before-the-election move, Premier Doug Ford reached an agreement with the federal government on $10 a day child-care.

The expiry of the mask mandate is also coupled with a reduction in the provincial guidelines for symptom screening and self-isolation.

After running for Premier on the promise of balancing the budget, it seems as though Ford is well on his way to meeting that promise.

While the plan overall doesn’t seem so bad overall, it’s always nice to see education receive record levels of funding.
